End of Life for Notes and Novell

• End of life for Lotus Notes email housed on OSU-Stillwater servers is June 30, 2006
• For those still using Lotus Notes email as of June 30, 2006, IT will automatically reroute their email to Outlook/Exchange system and archive their old Lotus Notes email to CD. They will be able to access new email messages online at http://mail.okstate.edu after June 30th
• Affected customers will be able to view messages stored in their Lotus Notes mailbox until July 7th, 2006 before the servers are completely shut down
• Support for other Lotus Notes applications currently in use will continue indefinitely
• Email functionality within Lotus Notes applications will continue to function
• The Lotus Notes application environment will be updated as needed

• End of life for Novell directory services is June 30, 2007
• All Novell departmental group (G:) and home (H:) drive data must be converted prior to June 30, 2007
• All Novell clients must be removed from desktops prior to June 30, 2007
• IT will cover the FY 2007 Novell licensing costs for departments who have their conversion timeline posted on the Conversion Schedule by Monday, May 1, 2006
• Departments who are not listed on the Conversion Schedule and are still using Novell home and group drives should contact the IT Help Desk at 744-HELP or helpdesk@okstate.edu to coordinate their conversion plans and avoid a licensing fee
• Novell licensing costs for FY 2006 were approximately $19 per seat
• The Novell per-seat licensing costs are expected to increase for FY07
• All other IT-provided Novell directory services will be discontinued by this date (ex: eDirectory LDAP authentication, NDPS printing, Zenworks applications, etc)
• The current IT Novell environment is 5.x and 6.x
• No future updates are planned for the Novell environment
