How to Show in the Global Address List (GAL)
 
There are a couple of reasons why some people don’t show up in the Exchange Global Address List (GAL). Below is a brief description of these reasons, along with the fix for enabling someone to show in the GAL:
 
  • Reason #1: They haven't activated their O-Key account.
    Fix: Instruct the person to visit http://okey.okstate.edu, click on the ‘O-Key Account Activation’ button, and complete the activation wizard.
  • Reason #2: They activated their O-Key account early and have 2 email destinations, and are possibly receiving email at both locations.
    Fix: Instruct the person to login to O-Key, click on the ‘Email Destination’ button, select their desired email destination, and click the ‘Save’ button.
  • Note: If the person selects an email destination other than Exchange, they should be careful to note whether or not they have an existing Exchange mailbox before selecting another email destination. If they do have an Exchange mailbox, they might want to open the mailbox via Outlook Web Access (http://mail.okstate.edu) and see if there are any important email messages they wish to forward or save before deleting the mailbox.
