OSU Faculty, Staff, and Students:
| |
The OSU Information Technology Department will soon be moving all @okstate.edu mailboxes to the new Exchange 2007 mail server. This move will continue our efforts to provide you with the best service possible and to keep you updated with the latest available software.
| |
The new Exchange 2007 server is the next version of Microsoft’s Exchange Server and provides advanced features and functionality in Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA).
| |
The move is available for all faculty, staff and students at all OSU campuses and will begin in stages. The student conversion will begin after finals week in December, while the faculty and staff conversion will start in January.
| |
You will experience little to no noticeable changes as we move your mailbox to the Exchange 2007 server. Your e-mail address will not change, you will not lose any messages and the moves will be done during non-business hours to ensure the least amount of disturbance.
| |
Once your mail file has been moved to the Exchange 2007 and you have installed the Outlook 2007 mail client on your work station, you will find advanced features on the Outlook 2007 Client (accessed on your desktop). For more information about these features, please visit the Outlook 2007 Resource Center.
| |
Note: After being moved to Exchange 2007, you will not notice any differences until you upgrade to the Outlook 2007 Client. To get Outlook 2007 on your desktop, go to the IT Software Distribution Center where you can download Windows Office 2007 for free.
| |
The most noticeable difference will be found in Outlook Web Access (OWA), which is accessed at mail.okstate.edu. With the upgrade, you will find new graphics and login/logoff displays. When you login to the new OWA, you will need to use your full O-Key e-mail address. For more information about OWA 2007, please visit the Outlook Web Access Resource Center.
