Question: Why do I need the VPN client?

Answer: Employees who wish to work from home and need to connect to restricted resources at the University need the VPN client. It is highly recommended that you use VPN when using the following applications from off-campus to connect to University resources:

- Mapping Active Directory network drives (ex: departmental group drives, individual home drives)
- Outlook 2003 for Exchange email and calendaring
- LAN Workplace Pro Telnet 3270 (TN3270)
- Windows Remote Desktop
- Terminal Services
