VPN FAQ

VPN FAQ #5

Question: How do I use the VPN software once it is installed on my home computer or laptop?

Answer: To establish a VPN connection to the OSU Stillwater network, open your OSU VPN Client and double-click on the 'Connect' icon. You will be prompted to login with your O-Key email address (or short O-Key username) and password. When connected, you shouldn't notice much of a difference in your regular computing environment, other than possibly seeing a little yellow padlock in your task bar. The VPN service will automatically be used for all connections to OSU sites and resources, but connections to non-OSU resources will not use the VPN tunnel. To disconnect the VPN service, open the OSU VPN Client (by right-clicking on the yellow packlock icon) and select 'Disconnect'.

NOTE: Do not use VPN while physically located on the OSU Stillwater campus. The VPN client should only be used when connecting to OSU resources from off-campus.
