The purpose of IT Announcements is to inform the public about IT news, scheduled downtimes, virus alerts, and emergency outages.

IT Announcements provides information about the availability of IT services.

• Outage/Service Interruption announcements are posted when an IT service unexpectedly becomes unavailable.

• Scheduled Downtimes are announced a week or more in advance.

• Topics of a general nature will be posted in the IT News. Topics include items such as a service end-of-life, major upgrades, webinar announcements, and other issues.

• Virus Alerts provides information about new viruses and other malicious security issues that Information Technology has become aware of.
