Clickers
Clickers, or smart phones with the clicker application, are a part of the equipment used for an audience response system – a type of teaching tool that allows students to actively participate in the classroom. The university mainly uses Turning Technologies Audience Response Solutions.
Details
Audience response systems are comprised of multiple components: specialized classrooms, software, and clickers that allow the student to interact with the lecture the instructor set up using this technology or take quick quizzes presented during class. After a learning segment, the instructor can post a question with several possible answer options for students to choose from via their clicker device. When the responses are tallied, students can see how their answer compares with the class.
