Document Imaging is a technology for a document is scanned electronically, indexed, and stored as a digital image of its original form. Once digitized, documents can be routed, archived, and/or retrieved using an installed application or web browser.

Document Imaging is a replacement for traditional manual filing techniques. Some benefits of document imaging are the reduction of file space, elimination of errors and misfiling, and improvement of productivity. Additionally, with the automated work flow management component, documents follow a set path through a system until the working cycle is completed, at which time the document is either discarded or archived electronically.
