Overview

Canvas Catalog is the University’s Outreach learning platform for non-credit and extension courses. Courses from across all of OSU’s campuses can be found here, including OSU-Stillwater, OSU-Tulsa, OSU-CHS, OSU-OKC, and OSU-IT. Canvas Catalog allows instructors to post the online portions of Outreach classes or teach fully online classes. Video recording capabilities are also offered in Canvas Catalog through use of the Studio product.

Canvas Catalog provides access to courses offered through Oklahoma State’s Outreach Programs. It can be accessed directly through https://outreachprograms.catalog.okstate.edu. There is also a mobile app in the Android and Apple app stores for access to Canvas Catalog.

 

Students using Canvas Catalog may have access to some of the following features:

• Syllabus

• News announcements

• Folders for each week of study that includes PowerPoint slides, assignments, extra reading, links to websites and videos, and more

• Discussion boards host discussion topics that students can use any time, day or night

• Dropbox for uploading assignments

• Quizzes and Exams

• Class list - a list names and email addresses of students, instructors, and teaching assistants

• Grades - a place to see one's own grades

• And more

Instructors using Canvas Catalog utilize some of the following features:

• Interact with students in the Discussions area

• Receive assignments

• Enter grades

• Get usage tracking data

Getting Started

1. To access Canvas Catalog, visit https://outreachprograms.catalog.okstate.edu/

2. Select the “Login” button in the top right of the page.

3. You will be redirected to sign in using an O-Key Login or an Outreach Login.

   1. If you are currently in the O-Key system, select the “O-Key Login” option and sign in using your O-Key credentials.

   2. If you are not in the O-Key system, select the “Outreach Login” option and sign in using your Canvas credentials. If you do not have a Canvas account, you may create one by following these instructions.

4. In the top right of the dashboard you will see the option to refine your search results. Please use this feature to filter and find the specific course you wish to enroll in. Click the Enroll button on the icon of your chosen course to begin the enrollment process.

5. Fees associated with the course will be assessed to the student during the registration process and may be paid by Credit/Debit cards only through TouchNet. Fees are processed by the sponsoring college or campus. Issues or questions related to payment, should be directed to the appropriate college or campus.

• Why can’t I see or click on my courses in Canvas Catalog?

  There are several reasons why you may not be able to see your course.

  • On the left-hand navigation bar is “Courses.” Courses will show you all courses you are currently enrolled in.

  • If the course is not published you will not be able to access them until the instructor publishes the course.

  • If it is before or after the course start dates you will not be able to access them.

  • If you just enrolled in the course, it can take up to a few days for your enrollment to reflect in the course.

• Why can’t I get into my course after the last day of the course?

  The day after the course closes students cannot view the course.
