Overview

There are primary and secondary methods for authorizing your login when using Duo.

Primary

  • Using the Duo application to push an authorization notice to your mobile device.

  • Using a passcode from inside the Duo mobile application

Secondary

  • SMS passcodes

  • Hardware Passcode FOBs

Setup of authorization methods

Verified Push

  1. On the page you are attempting to authorize your login, an authorization code will automatically be prompted after you input your username and password.

  2. Enter the 3-Digit Credentials provided on your device into the Duo Mobile application.

  3. Select "Verify" on the Duo Mobile application after inputting the 3-Digit Credentials.

Mobile App Passcode

  1. Open the Duo mobile app on your mobile device

  2. Select your account within the app. A six digit passcode will generate. 

  3. Click on the ‘Other Options’ button on the MFA Authorization page you are attempting to log into and select the ‘Use Duo Mobile Passcode’ option.

  4. Enter the six digit passcode that was generated in the text field provided in the MFA page

  5. Click on the Verify button to complete authorization.

SMS Passcodes

  1. On the page you are attempting to authorize your login, click ‘Other Options’.

  2. In the menu that appears, click the ‘Send text message passcode’ option.

  3. Open the text message on the device that the passcode was sent to (such as a mobile phone). One passcode should be available for use. Each code can be used once.

Hardware Passcode FOB

  1. On the Hardware Passcode FOB, select the green button to obtain a six digit passcode.

  2. On the page you are attempting to authorize your login, click ‘Other Options’ and select the ‘Use Hardware Token’ option.

  3. Enter the passcode on the authorization screen and click the Verify button to complete authorization.
