Respondus LockDown Browser
The Respondus LockDown Browser (RLB) is a specialized browser used for limiting the online testing environment.
The purpose of limiting the online testing environment is to help prevent students taking shortcuts to find answers. Students using the Respondus Lockdown Browser to take a quiz or exam are unable to capture screen content, go to other internet pages, copy pages, use messaging, or any other program on the computer while the test is active.
Install the Respondus Lockdown Browser.
For Windows and Mac - Download Lockdown Browser
For Chromebooks please refer to our Virtual Labs as Chromebooks are not currently supported by Respondus Lockdown Browser.
When you go to take a quiz that requires Respondus, go to the link that got set up on the Desktop (PC users) or in Applications on a Mac computer when you installed the application. Navigate to your quiz and it will open.
NOTE: If your instructor requires you to use the Respondus Lockdown Browser, you will have to access quiz by opening Respondus from your Desktop. Otherwise, the quiz will not open. If Respondus is not required, take the quiz with the browser you normally use.
