Getting Started for Employees

Let us start by saying, "Welcome to OSU!" This page will walk you through some of the basic services IT provides on campus and how to access them, and answers a few frequently asked questions. Some of these steps may not be available until you are on campus. If you have any problems call or email the IT Helpdesk.

1. Activate your Orange Key (O-Key) campus account

Use your O-Key account to access OSU services, including email, Wi-Fi, and online courses. You should receive an email with instructions on activating your O-Key account. Account passwords expire every 120 days. If you haven't already, visit http://okey.okstate.edu/ and click “Activate your O-Key Account” to get started. You might need to wait up to 30 minutes after activating your O-Key before accessing other services.

2. Accessing your OSU Email

All employees are required to use Cowboy Mail powered by Microsoft Office 365.

Access Cowboy Mail

To access email on your phone, download the Outlook app from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

3. Accessing MyOKSTATE

MyOKSTATE (my.okstate.edu) is the central hub for accessing most OSU services, including paystubs, timesheets and quick access to email.

4. University Provided Software

Employees can access Office 365, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive and more. On your laptop or PC login to Office 365 and click "Install Office" to get started.

Login to Office 365 via O-Key

Additionally Adobe Creative Cloud is availilble for faculty and staff and includes Photoshop, Acrobat, Lightroom, Dreamweaver, and more. Visit https://www.adobe.com/ and sign in with your O-Key account to get started.

5. ID Card

You will use your university ID card for checking out library books, visiting the Colvin recreation center, or accessing some restricted areas on campus. Go to the OSU Helpdesk in room 421 of the Classroom building to receive your ID Card. Be sure to bring a government-issued ID like a driver's license or passport. Learn more about OSU ID cards.

6. Campus Wi-Fi

The OSU campus has Wi-Fi in most areas. Connect to “eduroam” using your O-Key email address and password. Learn more about Campus Wi-Fi.
